HRD ANTWERP NV
HRD Antwerp NV is a wholly-owned subsidiary of AWDC, operating under an independent board of directors. It is dedicated to providing expert grading, educational and technological services to the diamond and jewellery industries worldwide, with many of these services supported by scientific research it carries out independently.
Quality is a dominant theme of the HRD Antwerp brand, and it is expressed directly in the company slogan “The Blueprint for Quality.” The company provides its services through a number of divisions:
HRD Antwerp Diamond Lab is world-renown diamond grading laboratory that operates according to one of the most stringent testing regimes that has been implemented in the industry. In 1996, it became the the first diamond grading facility ver to receive accreditation by the International Standards Organisation. It currently operates according to the demanding standards of NBN and ISO/IEC17025. The lab applies the grading rules set by the International Diamond Council (IDC).
HRD Antwerp Precious Stones Lab focuses its attention on coloured gemstones, issuing widely respected Gemstone Identication Reports for jewelery consumers and the trade.
HRD Antwerp Education conducts diamond grading and gemmology programmes for students and professionals. These are conducted at the organisation’s Antwerp campus, or at a variety of sites across the globe.
HRD Antwerp Graduates Club is a organisation open to alumni of HRD Antwerp Education, and acts as a forum for colleagues from the industry to exchange ideas and information. The club periodically conducts on-going education workshops for its members.
HRD Antwerp Equipment commercialises machines, instruments and tools used by both the diamond industry and jewellers.
HRD Antwerp Research consists of a team of scientists, engineers and laboratory staff who carry out fundamental and applied research for the diamond industry, as well as providing specialised services to the sector.
