Jewellery auctioned for cancer research

A set of unique jewelry pieces donated by Antwerp jewellers is being auctioned by Christie’s Amsterdam in Antwerp on May 18 in an event called Charity for Clarity. The auction aims to raise money for the cancer research fund of the Antwerp Augustinus hospital, associated with the Iridium cancer network.

The initiative was launched by Monique Van Camp in cooperation with the Antwerp World Diamond Centre, HRD Antwerp, the Antwerp Diamond Museum, the Antwerp cabinet of Alderman Heylen, responsible for culture and tourism, and Drukkerij Antilope.

The auction was followed by a gala dinner in Antwerp which raised more money with well-known Belgian TV figure Marlène de Wouters running the event.

The jewelry pieces will be on display in the Antwerp Diamond Museum from April 30 until May 18 from 10 am – 5.30 pm (not Wednesdays), and entrance is free.

The Antwerp Diamond Museum will hold a late evening opening on May 18, providing a last chance for the public and potential buyers to view the jewels.
