MARKETING & PR DEPARTMENT
The Marketing Department is the division within AWDC charged with strengthening the image of Antwerp as the world diamond centre, and promoting collectively the interests of diamond, gemstone and jewellery companies based in the city.
As part of its mission, the Marketing Department & PR organizes Antwerp Diamond Pavilions at trade fairs, within which many of the Antwerp-based firms choose to participate.
The Marketing & PR Department highlights the role of Belgium within the international diamond trade through the organisation in Antwerp and abroad of conferences, workshops, seminars, Antwerp Diamond Days and trade delegations. The most prominent of these events are the Antwerp Diamond Conferences, which since the first was held in 2002 have become milestone gatherings for the leaders and opinion makers in the world diamond industry.
To promote the role of Antwerp both as a diamond and jewellery centre, the Marketing & PR Department organises exclusive diamond jewelry exhibitions and jewelry design competitions.Among them is the HRD Awards, which is today the world’s leading international contest for designers in creative and innovative diamond jewellery.
The Marketing & PR Department disseminates information about the Belgian diamond centre and the diamond business in general though its printed publications, the AWDC’s Internet website and its electronic news platform and magazine, Antwerp Facets. It maintains close contact with the general and trade media and provides promotional support for companies involved in the Belgian diamond sector.
