The largest diamond in the world

The 'Cullinan' diamond, also known as the 'Star of Africa', is the largest uncut diamond ever found. It is a whopping 3,106 carats and was discovered in the Premier Mine in South Africa in 1905. The stone was named after the owner of the mine, Sir Thomas Cullinan. This diamond was cut into 105 pieces of which 9 large and 96 small diamonds were cut. The largest diamond cut from the Cullinan is the 'Cullinan I'. It is a stone of 530,2 carats and is part of the royal scepter of the British royal family. You can admire this diamond in the Tower of London.
