Raluca Anghel

Based in London, Raluca Anghel is responsible for the NDC’s global external engagement and public affairs, and also leads on communication and marketing in Europe.

Previously, Raluca worked in Brussels for 11 years where she coordinated Microsoft’s European storytelling agenda and then moved to the European Parliament to lead PR campaigns and develop policy in areas such as social affairs, SME growth, and technology. Her most recent role before NDC was Spokesperson for the Romanian Presidency of the EU Council. Raluca is a dynamic communicator with a strong collaborative style and a passion for sustainability!

 

Hon. Minister & Chair of ADPA, Tom Alweendo

HonorableTom Alweendo was first appointed as Minister of Mines and Energy in February 2018 and he recently got re-appointed as Minister of the same Ministry by His Excellency the President of the Republic of Namibia, Dr. H. G Geingob. Before he joined the public service, Alweendo has had a long career with Namibia’s central bank, the Bank of Namibia, where he served as Governor from January 1997-March 2010, appointed by Namibia's Founding President, His Excellency Dr. Sam Nujoma. Among some of his achievements during his tenure at the Bank of Namibia are the establishment of the local currency, the Namibia Dollar; the localization of the payments and banking systems; and the establishment of the Financial Intelligence Center.  Among his priorities as Minister of Mines and Energyisto create a conducive investment environment,in both the mining and energy sectors, with the main purpose of progressing Namibia’ssocial-economic development agenda. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa and a Masters ofBusiness Administration (MBA) from the University of Wales.
