CSRD: Sector DMA for the Antwerp diamond industry: AWDC Café
Under the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), large diamond companies will soon be expected to include a sustainability statement in their annual report. Like the financial statement, this sustainability statement will need to be verified by an auditor.
The first step in the reporting process is a “double materiality assessment” (DMA). During a DMA, a company follows a number of steps to determine which topics are important (“material”) enough to be included in the sustainability statement.
Starting a DMA from scratch can be time- and resource consuming. This is why AWDC has teamed up with Sustenuto, a stratecial sustainability-advisory office, to carry out a sector DMA for the diamond industry. While you will still need to customize the findings of this sector DMA to your specific operating context, the process will become a lot easier.
AWDC Café 15/1
During this AWDC café, Sustenuto will present the key results of the sector DMA, and explain how companies can use the findings as a starting point for their individual reporting. Next, we will hear from a panel of auditors that are active in the diamond industry about their expectations towards companies.
The summary of the sector DMA is attached to this page. The full report will be released after the AWDC Café.
