Antwerp Diamond Election Debate
AWDC is organizing a special, Diamond-themed Election Debate on September 6!
In the run-up to the local elections on October 14 2018, the AWDC is organizing an election debate on Thursday, September 6. This special debate, covering a wide variety of relevant issues and diamond-related topics, takes place at 4 pm in the Antwerpsche Diamantkring.
When: Thursday, September 6 - 4:00 PM
Where: Antwerpsche Diamantkring, Hoveniersstraat 2
During the debate, five important Antwerp politicians will engage in a discussion moderated by journalist Indra Dewitte:
- Kris Peeters – CD&V
- Wouter Van Besien - Groen
- Ludo Van Campenhout – NVA
- Philippe De Backer – Open Vld
- Jinnih Beels – Sp.a
They will be asked to discuss five statements and questions concerning local, national and international issues related to the diamond industry:
- The Antwerp diamond square mile needs a makeover
- The gold and jewelry shops around the station give the diamond square mile a bad reputation
- Is the city of Antwerp making enough efforts to promote Antwerp as the most important diamond trading center worldwide?
- Access to Belgian banks is essential for a Belgian industry
- What should be done to ensure the future of Antwerp as a diamond trading hub?
