AWDC Café: new legislation for companies, associations and foundations (FULLY BOOKED)

The new Belgian company law was approved on 28 February 2019, and will enter into force on the 1st of May 2019. For already existing companies, a transition period is foreseen: ultimately, by the 1st of January 2020, these companies will also fall under the scope of the new law. During this AWDC Café, the key changes to this legislation will be discussed by Robby Houben, Professor of Company and Financial Law at the University of Antwerp and Counsel at Baker & McKenzie. He will discuss the differences between the previous and the new legal framework, focusing particularly on the bvba incorporation type, as well as the implications of the new legislation for diamond trading companies.
