Register now for the AWDC SO ‘Alert-SMS’ Friday, 2 October, 2015 Security

AWDC SO offers the Antwerp Diamond Community the opportunity to register for a new notification mechanism using text messages, the Alert-SMS. The purpose of this notification system is to inform the community rapidly in case of a serious and ongoing emergency situation within the Antwerp Diamond Area, by means of a text message (SMS). This will allow the community to remain informed in case of an acute ADA security incident and if necessary, to receive immediate (evacuation) guidance. The service is free of charge but registration is subject to review by the AWDC SO. The Alert-SMS system will not be used for any other purposes.

AWDC SO and LPA resolve important matters Friday, 2 October, 2015 Security

The AWDC Security Office (AWDC SO) and the Antwerp Local Police (LPA) work closely together to ensure the safety and security of the Antwerp diamond industry and community. Some matters of crucial importance were resolved as a result of this successful collaboration.

Now that the last Antwerp Diamond Pavilion of 2015 is concluded, we are starting the preparations for the 2016 editions.

If you would like to participate in one of the Antwerp Diamond Pavilions in 2016, you can register now to be added to the waiting list of the trade fairs of your choice.

AWDC: Amnesty International Report on CAR Ignores Antwerp Controls Wednesday, 30 September, 2015 CSR & Compliance, Public Affairs

Despite the fact an Amnesty International team visited the Antwerp World Diamond Centre, including the Antwerp Diamond Office which supervises all imports and exports of diamonds to and from Antwerp, and was able to witness how the strict controls on imports of rough are conducted in Antwerp, the Antwerp World Diamond Centre cannot but conclude the report contains factual errors in this regard.

The Antwerp World Diamond Centre’s “Diamond Power Sessions” made waves on the largest stage in the diamond and jewelry industry – the Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair. More than 150 buyers crowded into the Antwerp Diamond Pavilion to hear the latest industry insights from Antwerp diamond experts on September 17 & 18, and the buzz was palpable.

AWDC is looking for rough and polished diamonds for photo shoot Thursday, 24 September, 2015 Events

AWDC is looking for diamond companies that are willing to provide rough and polished diamonds for a diamond photo shoot. The photos will be used for general promotional purposes. The photographer will be able to photograph the diamonds within your own office, avoiding diamonds need to be transported. For companies that participate we are happy to offer a complimentary photo of their office and staff. If you are interested to participate, please send an email to marcom@awdc.eu. Diamond application temporarily on giant interactive wall at the Schoenmarkt Thursday, 24 September, 2015 Events

Early July, with the support of the Flemish government, the City of Antwerp launched the diamond app ‘Antwerp loves diamonds’. This application is now temporarily displayed on a large interactive wall at the Schoenmarkt in Antwerp. On a giant smartphone, you can scroll through facts and figures about diamonds and discover what goes on behind the scenes of the diamond district.
