Security Office: AMOK Active Killer Briefing Friday, 5 February, 2016 Security

"AMOK-Active Killers" refers to incidents like the terrorist attacks in Paris and the Jewish Museum in Brussels, the foiled attacks in Verviers, the failed attack on the Thalys, etc.

"AMOK-Active Killers" are part of 'the new normal'. From a criminal as well as terrorist perspective, "AMOK-Active Killer" situations form a potential threat to companies in the public and private sector.

AWDC Security Office will start a new monthly briefing in 2016: the AMOK Briefing. The following items will be discussed:

- AMOK: definition and history

- National and international examples

- Perpetrator profile

- Modus Operandi

- Security measures

The next briefing is scheduled on Thursday 18 February 2016 from 3:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. in the ‘Oppenheimer’ Conference Room in the AWDC building on level -1.

The diamond trade around the world is under duress. Antwerp, the most important international trade center, did not escape the year unscathed, but was the best performer. This past year, 48.3 billion USD worth of diamonds were imported to and exported from Antwerp.

7th Antwerp Diamond Trade Fair to open its doors on 31 January Thursday, 28 January, 2016 Events

The 7th Antwerp Diamond Trade Fair (ADTF) will open its doors to jewelers, jewelry manufacturers and jewelry designers from all across the globe, from January 31 till 2 February 2016. Over the course of three days, they can meet with Antwerp’s top diamond companies within the halls of the Antwerp Diamond Bourses.

Bulgaria no longer KP Authority in Europe Thursday, 28 January, 2016 Public Affairs

On 26 January 2016, the Official Journal of the European Union published that Bulgaria is no longer a KP authority in Europe. Therefore, only 6 European KP authorities are now empowered to verify import and export shipments of rough diamonds, namely Antwerp (Belgium), Bucharest (Romania), Idar-Oberstein (Germany), Lisbon (Portugal), London (United Kingdom) and Prague (Czech Republic).

Laurelton Diamonds Inc. Tender at Antwerp Diamond Tender Facility Thursday, 14 January, 2016 Events

Laurelton Diamonds Inc. will be holding viewings of its next Tender of Rough and Sawn at the Antwerp Diamond Tender Facility at the AWDC building in Antwerp, Belgium. The Tender will include a selection of White, Cape and Yellow Rough parcels in sizes from +5cts to -7 in Regular and High quality assortments totaling ~8,000cts. There will also be a range of White and Yellow Sawn Kaps offered in sized parcels from +3gr to -5 in mixed qualities totaling ~12,000cts.
