Cosmopolitan fare in the historic centre
An abundance of local and international restaurants, inns and pubs can be found in the area of Suikerrui, Hoogstraat, Reyndersstraat, Vlasmarkt, Grote Pieter Potstraat, Ernest Van Dyckkaai, Zirkstraat and Wolstraat. Pizza, pasta, mezze and pita bars can be found in Oude Koornmarkt and Pelgrimstraat or try a variety of restaurants with terraces overlooking the attractive squares in Grote Markt, Groenplaats, Handschoenmarkt, H. Conscienceplein, Lijnwaadmarkt and Veemarkt.

 

Bistros and pubs in the Latin quarter
A rich selection of bistros, pubs that serve meals, grand cafes, brasseries and summer terraces are located in the theatre district as well the area of Wapper, Hopland, Graanmarkt, Schuttershofstraat, Leopoldstraat and Arme Duivelstraat. The Wilde Zee shopping zone offers a selection of salad and snack bars in addition to lunch rooms and tea rooms.

 

Asian, international and kosher cuisine in the station district
A variety of Chinese and Thai restaurants are located around Van Wesenbekestraat and De Coninckplein. Other exotic cuisine, as well as tapas and pita bars can be enjoyed around Statiestraat, Breydelstraat and Anneessensstraat. Daily specials at the restaurants, brasseries and inns in the Keyserlei area offer a welcome lunch break. Kosher restaurants can be found in Appelmansstraat, Lange Kievitstraat, Simonsstraat, Van Leriusstraat and Isabellalei.

 

Terraces and vegeterian cuisine in the South district
Popular spots with terraces abound in Vlaamse en Waalse Kaai, Gentplaats - Leopold de Waelplaats, Leopold de Waelstraat, Graaf van Hoornstraat and Kasteelpleinstraat serve vegetarian cuisine. Bistros and pubs also line the streets.
