About Diamonds

Diamonds are pure carbon crystals, formed under extreme heat and great pressure, 150 km beneath the surface. Or as Henry Kissinger once said, ‘A diamond is nothing more than a chunk of coal, made good under pressure’. The value of a single diamond depends on four characteristics, best known as the “four C’s”, namely carat, clarity, color and cut. Diamonds increase in value as the grade of each of the four C’s increases, which leaves the consumer with a variety of choice. Some might prefer a larger stone with a lower clarity grade; others will choose a smaller stone but with a high clarity, color and cut grade.
