Working on a hot summer day

working on a hot summer day

When the mercury rises to 30 C, you probably don’t feel much like going to work. But you still need to be productive at work during the summer. We offer a few tips for making the best of a summer day at the office.

Ride your bicycle to work

If you do not live too far from where you work, perhaps you can walk or ride your bike. Then you can already enjoy the sun in the morning and evening. When it is very hot, it might be best to shower at work.

Dress appropriately

Dress more lightly than usual so you do not get too hot. Of course, you will still have to respect the company dress code. Most companies do not appreciate Bermuda shorts and flip-flops, for example.

Schedule your day

In order to stay motivated, make a schedule in the morning of what you wish to accomplish that day. That way you will be less easily distracted, or in any event you can get back to the task at hand more quickly if you do get distracted.

Start work earlier

If you can decide on your own hours, start working earlier. That way you can leave on time in the evening and still enjoy the sun.

Enjoy your break outside

Take a walk or have something to eat at a terrace during your lunch break. It will not be easy to concentrate afterwards, but you will at least have the feeling that you were able to enjoy the lovely weather.

Eat a fresh salad and drink a healthy smoothie

Adapt your lunch to the good weather and exchange your sandwiches for a salad. A delicious smoothie can also raise your spirits immediately.

Following these tips will make your hot working days much more enjoyable and productive, and you will jump out of bed in the morning with pleasure.
