AWDC SO and LPA resolve important matters
The AWDC Security Office (AWDC SO) and the Antwerp Local Police (LPA) work closely together to ensure the safety and security of the Antwerp diamond industry and community. Some matters of crucial importance were resolved as a result of this successful collaboration.
Job applicant for diamond company, wanted by the police, identified and arrested
AWDC SO was made aware of a suspicious job applicant for a sensitive position within a S-ADA organization. Through a professional cooperation between AWDC SO and LPA DIA we detected that the individual was a convicted criminal, wanted by the police, to serve his prison time. AWDC SO, together with LPA DIA, was able to locate, identify and arrest the individual, who right after the arrest was brought to the Antwerp prison. This case shows that awareness and good procedures in the pre-employment phase are crucial in order to prevent malicious insiders from infiltrating into S-ADA buildings and organisations!
The ADH security team professionally intervened in a serious medical emergency with a diamantair
AWDC SO was informed by LPA DIA on a serious medical emergency with a diamantair inside the ADH building. Due to the professional and swift help from the ADH security team the required emergency services were contacted and rapidly on site. They were able to stabilize and transport the diamantair to hospital. The security teams inside the buildings not only look out for your security, but also have an added value during medical emergencies!
Theft of equipment foiled, perpetrator arrested
During a weeknight, the LPA CCTV DIA operator on duty, noticed a man displaying suspicious behavior, to include nervously looking around and loitering, in the Vestingstraat. The operator decided to continue to monitor the man. Shortly thereafter the man turned into the Rijfstraat and started to dismantle the tent. The operator informed the mobile patrol unit, who arrived on scene to identify and arrest the person for attempted theft. Using the CCTV system LPA DIA looks after the district, also at night!
