The annual International Solid Waste Association (ISWA) World Congress was held in Antwerp for the first time from 7 to 9 September. An exclusive gala dinner, which AWDC sponsored, took place on 8 September in the Hilton Hotel. During the dinner we gave four Antwerp companies the opportunity to display their diamonds or jewelry. IGC Group, Eurotrade, Adin and Ajediam were the participating companies. The famous ECC diamond tennis racquet also made an appearance.

ISWA, the International Solid Waste Association, is the largest non-profit umbrella organization in the world for the promotion of sustainable and professional waste management. Efficient management of waste and raw materials is one of the easiest and best ways to quickly achieve a substantial reduction of CO2 emissions and is thus of paramount importance to a sustainable future for our planet. The annual world congress is a highlight in the functioning of ISWA: for three full days, more than 1,000 waste specialists, policy makers, industrialists, researchers and entrepreneurs from around the world exchange their ideas and experiences.
