On October 14, the Federation of Belgian Enterprises (VBO-FEB) will organize a lunch session with representatives of a Japanese trade mission. This trade mission is being organized by Keidanren, the Japan Business Federation, and will be spearheaded by Mr. Yoshio Sata, Chairman of the Board of Sumitomo Life Insurance Company. The business delegation will also include executives and experts from leading Japanese companies and banks, such as trading companies ITOCHU and Marubeni, the Bank of Tokyo and Nomura Bank.

The purpose of this working visit is to have a closer look at the current status of and future outlook for the economy in both our countries, as well as to investigate opportunities for expanding bilateral economic and technological exchange. During the lunch session we will also discuss the benefits and opportunities regarding a free trade agreement (EPA/FTA) between Japan and the EU.

Belgium is organizing a State visit to Japan in 2016, spearheaded by HRM King Filip I. In light of this State visit, this lunch session will present a unique opportunity to establish high-level contacts with these leading Japan captains of industry. Furthermore, it will also allow you to gain a better understanding of the Japanese economy, which is on a steady course of revitalization, and thereby to better assess potential business opportunities.

If you would like to participate in this lunch, please let us know by sending an e-mail to filip.buntinx@awdc.eu
