AWDC congratulates Andrey Polyakov on his election as Vice President of the WDC

ALROSA Vice President Andrey Polyakov was elected World Diamond Council (WDC) Vice President at the WDC's annual general meeting on 12 & 13 October in Moscow. Polyakov will become WDC President in 2016. As a member of the World Diamond Council, AWDC would like to congratulate Mr. Andrey Polyakov on his election.

AWDC is confident that Mr. Polyakov’s heightened influence within the leadership of WDC will facilitate the ongoing development and implementation of systems to control the trade in diamonds, as well as cooperation with the Kimberley Process. Furthermore, AWDC believes that Mr. Polyakov’s appointment will greatly benefit the future development of a clear strategic plan for the WDC. Fully in tune with the World Diamond Council’s tireless determination to ensure compliance and promote market transparency in the diamond industry, AWDC is fully committed to Mr. Polyakov’s efforts to find new forms of cooperation, to protect and to support the reputation of the industry and its product, and to ensure better education and communication about KP standards.

Mr. Polyakov is Vice President of ALROSA after being their Head of PR. AWDC looks forward to continue to work together with him in his new capacity as Vice President of the WDC and in the future when he assumes the role of President of the Council.
