This year as well, students from the Municipal Lyceum Meir’s Diamond Processing Program are seeking internships. Four students from the 7th year are seeking internships starting 7 March.

A specific contact point for large companies, which they may turn to for questions concerning taxation and general information, has been set up within the FPS Finance. This service, the Industry Coordination Department, is available to assist you with the following taxation matters:

The excellent collaboration between Antwerp, the leading diamond trade hub, and Russian mining giant Alrosa, the world’s largest diamond producer, was once again highlighted at an exclusive networking event in the margins of Alrosa’s diamond tender period. The event, a joint initiative by Alrosa and AWDC, was held in the Belgian Ambassador’s residence in Moscow.
Last week, the City of Antwerp won the Belfius/Knack Smart City Award for Stadslab 2050, a project that enjoyed the support of the Antwerp diamond industry. The City of Antwerp wishes to work in a more sustainable manner, and with Stadslab 2050 has launched a new strategy, together with several Antwerp companies and sectors, to accelerate the process of reducing energy consumption and increasing sustainable energy provision.
In 2013, the City of Antwerp – in collaboration with AWDC, certification body KIWA, Ars Nobilis and FPS Economy – launched the Antwerp’s Most Brilliant (AMB) quality label. This label honors and promotes jewelers that continually go the extra yard to provide their customers a reliable and high quality product.

Yesterday the Antwerp diamond community celebrated Diwali, the Indian Festival of Lights. The Federation of Belgian Diamond Bourses and AWDC organized the event, which was sponsored by Driesassur. More than 600 members of the Antwerp diamond community and the Antwerp Indian Association gathered together in the Antwerp Diamond Club to enjoy music, Indian and Kosher food, and drinks. The festivities included a raffle and a few lucky people went home with a lovely prize.
