On Tuesday, June 9, we will organize the second chance for the AML exam. Passing this exam means you'll earn a three year exemption for the AML certification obligation. Every registration is binding.
Location: TBD (Diamond Bourse or the Provinciehuis – the location will depend on the number of registered participants. The final venue will be communicated by email).

Who is allowed to participate
- Max. 2 official AML officers per company can participate: the ultimate AML responsible (senior management representative) and the operational AML officer
- You can participate if you belong to one of these categories:
- You are listed on the most recently submitted AML Activity Report for the diamond company for which you are taking the exam as Operational AML Officer or Ultimate AML Responsible (board level)
- You are a director of the diamond company for which you are taking the exam
- You are responsible within your company for the follow-up and implementation of AML legislation, but you are not listed on the most recent AML Activity Report
- For these last two categories: You must be able to demonstrate that you are officially on the company’s payroll in this capacity (for example, via a payslip). The FPS Economy may request this proof after registration and before the exam.
- Freelancers can participate in the exam. As a freelancer, you must be engaged with the company you wish to obtain the certificate for for at least 6 months on the day of the exam. The FPS Economy may request this proof after registration and before the exam.
- You may participate in this “second chance” exam for the first time, provided that you meet the above requirements.
What the exam will look like
- The exam will consist of 25 questions, it will be a mix of open questions or multiple choice
- The questions in the 'Test your Knowledge' section of the syllabus are example questions, the exam questions will be similar to these
- Obtain at least 60% to pass the exam. Please Note: you must answer all the questions in the section 'cut off' correctly - this is mentioned on the exam.
- Exam is written, not digital
- Exam will be available in both English and Dutch
- Pass the exam and obtain the 3-year AML certification obligation exemption.
Tips to prepare for the exam
- Read and study the AML syllabus provided by AWDC. You can find the syllabus here.
- Test your knowledge by solving the practice questions at the end of each chapter. You can find the answer with the correct answers in the back of the syllabus.
- Make sure to pay close attention to figures, specific names, dates, and key facts, as a number of questions will test your knowledge in these areas. That said, the rest of the syllabus remains equally important and can also be covered in the exam.
