GGTL Laboratories Belgium Launches Affordable Screening for <1mm Diamonds

GGTL Laboratories Belgium Launches Affordable Screening for <1mm Diamonds

GGTL Laboratories, with laboratories in Antwerp, Switzerland and Liechtenstein and highly specialized in testing diamonds, colored diamonds and colored gems in sizes as small as 0.4 mm, is now offering automated screening services for melee-sized, colorless diamonds under 1mm using the newly acquired AMS Micro device by De Beers. This advanced technology enables efficient, high-accuracy identification of natural diamonds, which reduces costs for Antwerp diamantaires while eliminating the risk of synthetic or imitation stones passing undetected. At AWDC, we support innovative collaborations that help protect natural diamonds and also build consumer confidence.

The service is available for parcels of round brilliant cut diamonds in the D–J color range. Stones that remain inconclusive during automated testing will be further analyzed using GGTL’s trusted non-automated methods, ensuring full verification of all goods. This marks a valuable step in maintaining confidence in the integrity of the natural diamond supply chain.
