This was Hong Kong March 2025

Another year, another Hong Kong March show has come and gone! We want to thank everyone who joined the Antwerp Diamond Pavilion and congratulate them on their successful show.

Given the market’s current challenges, the Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show opened with a crucial question: What can we expect from sales and pricing? According to Rapaport, the loose diamond trading exceeded expectations, with international buyers making up for the low Chinese demand. They also reported on a positive sentiment in the different halls, with a bunch of successful transactions and firm prices.

As previously mentioned, Chinese visitors did not come through at the show. This is likely due to the impact of the economic and real-estate crisis hitting their country. This was made up by the demand in the other Asian markets, such as Thailand or Malaysia.
Our key takeaway from the show is the optimism expressed by multiple exhibitors. They don’t necessarily expect a quick recovery of the industry, but they do hope things will look up in three to six months. Let’s hope their optimism proves right!
